Becky Ward
Becky asked Jesus into her heart at a youth camp when she was 9-years old. Her family life changed significantly shortly afterward because her parents also became Christians that summer. From that time Becky and her family were at church every Sunday and most of the times the church doors were open during the week. Her parents’ example taught her the importance of faithfulness and consistency.
Becky graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in wildlife science. After starting with the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Becky worked for the United States Postal Service, where she retired in 2019 after 32 years of service. Even though her degree didn’t lead to a wildlife career, it has enhanced her appreciation of God’s creation and His creatures.
In 1998, Becky moved to the Tahoe area and has called it home ever since. She loves being in the mountains and the snow. Becky is often seen road biking or cross-country skiing, and is always ready to find a new hiking trail. Since retiring, she also likes to travel and explore new areas, both at home and on the road with a camper van named Pete.
Becky has served in various church leadership positions over many years. Worship and prayer are integral parts of her life. She also enjoys participating in short term missions with Church Family Missions of South Lake Tahoe. Teams have always been an important of Becky’s life. In her younger years, it was softball and basketball, but now it's all about team Jesus. Her desire is to see people's hearts opened to Jesus as they encounter the beauty of His creation here at Lake Tahoe.
